Welcome to Sustain E Journal

Welcome to Sustain E Journal, a gateway to open-access peer-reviewed research relating to discoveries and advancements of Sustainability technology, questions, debates, and analysis across the range of interconnected issues, challenges, and interventions. Environmental sustainability i.e., environmental remediation and preservation strategies, interventions, and policies have implications for social/ societal sustainability; accordingly, the journal includes research into innovative social organizational systems, circular economy models, distribution of the Commons, and social-environmental justice.

You have a lot of choices when deciding which journals to work with because there is a proliferation of open source literature. Sustain E Journal stands out among the rest for the quality of research-based knowledge regarding environmental and societal sustainability. We acknowledge the proliferation of information, but more is not a negative as long as the contributions are of value – value to the scientific community, value to society, and value to the natural environment. Sustain E is a reliable source for current research on sustainability-focused policy, science, and technology developments.

There are three broad themes that Sustain E Journal will elaborate upon. The first is to understand climate change impacts and the conceptualization of mitigation interventions. Second is the ongoing energy transition from hydrocarbon to renewable energy sources in countries across the globe particularly those experiencing the greatest disruptions from climate change phenomena. While no region or nation-state is spared from climate change effects, at this point the most severe impacts manifest in developing and least developed countries. The purpose for the renewable energy transition is to decrease human-generated greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions; renewable technologies are improvements over hydrocarbon fuels, but they are seldom inconsequential to environmental impacts. Therefore, Sustain E encourages research on environmental sustainability within the energy transition process. Third, we contend that the evidence supporting the argument that human activity has accelerated climate change is unequivocal. Nonetheless, despite the concrete data pointing to the detrimental environmental impacts of the hydrocarbon-fueled economy on natural environmental systems, vested interests work to prolong the use of GHG emitting fuels, e.g., coal, oil, and natural gas. Thus, the third theme engages the knowledge-power nexus by highlighting local perspectives and examples of political and entrepreneurial agency extending from impacted societies.

Sustain E Journal purports to advance scientific understanding of environmental preservation and contribute to a more equitable and just global society. Therefore, journal articles on this platform are full-length and free to read and cite because knowledge-production equates/translates to power. So, Sustain E Journal contributes to a sustainable future through the dissemination of clear, accurate, and precise analysis of current and possible systems of sustainability. Thank you for visiting our website and reading Sustain E journal. Share with your friends and colleagues.
