Yuyun Ismawati is the Co-chair of IPEN, a global network of public interest NGOs in over 130 countries. She is also a co-founder and Senior Advisor of Nexus3, formerly known as BaliFokus Foundation, a non-profit organisation based in Indonesia working towards a just, toxics-free, and sustainable future.
She has broad and rich experiences in environmental health, climate, chemicals, and wastes issues. Participatory approach, stakeholders engagement, and systemic changes are the main approaches of her interventions in addressing environmental and health issues.
She holds an Environmental Engineering Bachelor degree from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) Indonesia, and MSc. in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford. Yuyun is a LEAD Fellow (Leadership for Environment and Development), an Ashoka Fellow and a Goldman Environmental Prize awardee 2009.
